Reykjavik: Northern Lights Yacht Tour

2.Northern Lights Yacht Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.4 · 1,253 reviews · 2 hours · from $93Best value

Cruise from Reykjavík into Faxaflói Bay for a chance to see the northern lights, with three viewing decks, a bar, blankets, and guides.

“Lovely staff, well organised. Boat is smaller and not over loaded like some of the bigger tour boats so plenty of room to sit inside and plenty of space outside for viewing. Tour was cancelled on our initial booking date due to weather conditions but we were contacted in plenty of time, rebooked for next day which was easy. We managed to see glimpses of the northern lights but cloudy conditions made it tricky. Would definitely use this company again! Highly recommended!”

Review of Reykjavik’s 3-hour Harpa Yachts cruise, with whale and dolphin sightings, puffins, yacht comfort, costs, and practical tips.

“A fabulous afternoon where we were lucky enough not just to see the main four (Harbour Porpoise, White Beaked Dolphins, Minke Whales & Humpback Whale) but we got a surprise full breach out the water next to our boat by a magnificent Humpback Whale too! Our guide Lucky was fantastic, full of knowledge & able to spot them before I could. Highly informative as well as visually amazing!”

4.Whale Watching Cruise on a Yacht in Reykjavik

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 684 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $102

Review of Reykjavik’s 3-hour whale-watching yacht cruise, with wildlife, harbor views, practical tips, value, and honest drawbacks.

“Tour was very good, staff were very friendly and good at spotting the whales and ensuring we got a good view of them. Guide was very informative as well! We got to see Humpback whales and Minke Whales and a lot closer than I thought we would get! Only small drawback for our experience was that we were told to arrive for 08:30, but boarding wasn't until 9am and the boat didn't set off until almost half past. Which obviously wasn't the case for others on the tour as we were the only ones to arrive at this time...”

Whale Watching & Dolphin Yacht Cruise

5.Whale Watching & Dolphin Yacht Cruise

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 488 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $108

Review of Reykjavik’s 3-hour whale and dolphin yacht cruise, with wildlife, boat comfort, sea conditions, value, tips, and booking advice.

“Experienced crew knew exactly where to take us, to hopefully see some whales and we weren’t disappointed!! We saw killer whales and humpback whales. My Mrs, who isn’t a lover of boats and the ocean in general, thoroughly enjoyed the experience as did our 16 year old son. There were many view points around the yacht and the facilities on board were better than expected.”

Northern Lights Yacht Cruise in Reykjavik

6.Northern Lights Yacht Cruise in Reykjavik

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 428 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $94

Review the Reykjavik Northern Lights Yacht Cruise, with practical advice on views, warmth, weather, price, wildlife, and the return-trip policy.

“The whole ride up for this experience is misleading starting with the picture of the yacht and all the northern lights around it. Then it says we’re gonna sail out past islands to where there’s no light pollution in reality. All we did was sale a couple of minutes out into the harbor, there was tons of light pollution, making it pretty much impossible to see anything but a little bit of white mist. The crew did a good job trying to convince you that you were seeing something, but it was nothing like the write up or images would make you believe very disappointing.”
